Dublin is a very laid back, cosmopolitan and sociable city and it is full of cool, quirky and of course highly instagrammable hotspots to catch up with friends or colleagues over a coffee, a bite to eat or even a cheeky cocktail (or two!).
There is a wide range of cafes, coffee shops, restaurants, pubs, bars and cocktail bars throughout the city and with lots of great places to choose from, here is our pick of the bunch! 😊
Balfes:
Balfes is a lovely New York style brasserie located next to the Westbury hotel just off Grafton street, perfect for meeting up with friends or flying solo with your laptop for the afternoon. They have a great food and drink selection as well as a well-known breakfast and brunch offering, not to mention great coffee! You can sit inside in the casual seating by the bar or in the main sit-down restaurant area or sit outside in their lovely terrace area. I love the style of brasserie too, it’s very chic and elegant with a contemporary vibe and looks great on your Instagram feed!
Amazing food, Amazing service and Amazing cocktails! Balfes is one of my favourite spots in the city , with a nice chilled and relaxed atmosphere and a burrata to die for what more could you want! 😊
37 Dawson street:
37 Dawson Street is a great bar and restaurant venue opposite Mansion House, it has really eclectic décor and it’s a good nightlife spot in the city as well as a great spot for a bite to eat with good food from local sources and a few cocktails. They pour a mean Espresso martini and they have a lovely tapas style menu available as well as a varied brunch menu and you can eat in the bar area downstairs or in the restaurant upstairs. It has a laid back, cool and quirky vibe with comfy leather sofas , random décor with lots of antique style pieces and statement lighting and accents. At the back of the building they also have a whiskey bar too.
The Dean Hotel:
The Dean is a funky, urban boutique hotel on Harcourt street with a mix of trendy, stylish bedrooms , sociable public areas and is home to Sophie’s roof top restaurant with stunning panoramic views of the city and amazing food! The hotel is in the heart of one of Dublin’s most popular nightlife areas surrounded by well-known clubs and bars and is nearby to areas like Grafton street, Stephens Green and Dawson street. They have a trendy lobby area where you can sit and chat with friends over a coffee or drink and it’s a great spot for a working lunch or out of office afternoon. Sophies is a great evening option too and they also have a terrace area which they often theme where you can sit and chill for drinks , recently they have had Roe & Co whiskey and Tanqueray gin themed terraces in there.
House Dublin:
House is located on Leeson street within 2 five story Georgian houses, they also have 6 vintage style bedrooms available too. They are a popular choice for afternoon tea and brunch and also have a lovely lunch and dinner menu available. House has a great mix of spaces available where you can socialise, work, relax and catch up with friends or colleagues including two bars, a Wine Room, a Conservatory, Terrace, Glasshouse , the red room and a lovely Garden area with citrus and olive trees.
